Mr Karl-Fritz Scheufele was thinking of three things when he imagined Chopard's 'Alpine Eagle' watch: his love for the Alps, the region's native golden eagle and the 'St. Moritz' timepiece his father created in 1980, which serves as the basis for this chronograph. The Maison spent four years developing the Chopard Lucent Steel A223 that's used for the case and bracelet, it's inspired by the strength of the mountains and is, fittingly, brighter and 50% harder than other variations. The galvanised dial, meanwhile, is modelled on the bird of prey's iris, the second hand fluted like a feather and the crown engraved with a compass rose. We offer a two-year warranty for all working parts and manufacturing faults for luxury watches. For more information, contact one of our experts by emailing watches@mrporter.com
