Stella McCartney eco canvas organic GOTS cotton, GRS recycled polyester, and bio polyurethane from VEGEA grapewaste tote bag with logo VEGEA is a grapebased vegan alternative to animal leather, sourced from the agricultural waste of wineries in Northern Italy. It is soft and versatile in technical and aesthetic properties, like thickness, finishing, and texture. The repurposed grape waste uses the pulp, seeds, skin, and stem. By using waste from the winery industry as a material source - known as industrial symbiosis - the brand is reducing its reliance on virgin synthetics. The postconsumer recycled polyester uses preloved textiles, reducing the use of virgin materials, preventing waste from entering landfills, incinerators, and oceans, and limiting the use of virgin fossil fuelbased fibers. Stella McCartney's recycled brass uses waste as a resource and reduces the need for mining and extraction of virgin raw materials.
