When Zegna artistic director Alessandro Sartori and Daniel Bailey, the sneaker innovator better known as MRBAILEY, first discussed creating a collaborative shoe, Zegna's Triple Stitch silhouette was naturally the perfect starting point. It's here reimagined in boundary-pushing terms, note, for example, how the three crosses that define the style are rendered in rubber, partnered with a mesh bootie and layered sole. Perhaps most impressive is the exterior - layers of tactile leather and suede are finished with a carbonised effect inspired by yakisugi, the traditional Japanese method of wood preservation.
